It's Never Too Late

Bob Greenberg, Manager, Customer Services Operation at 3PAR data, like many SJSU-PD students, enrolled in his coursework after years of experience in his field. He had learned a lot by experience but still feels that the course work has enriched his understanding and built on his experience.
He'd worked in the customer service field for nearly 30 years when he took on a greater challenge two years ago. By joining a startup, 3PARdata, he assumed responsibility for building the technical support infrastructure including the call center, backline support and field support.
His manager sent him information on a new Professional Development course entitled Strategic Planning for Service and Support in SJSU-PD"s Technical Support Management program. He enrolled in the course and found it "worthwhile and well done". Since then he's enrolled in three more courses in the program. Even though he has learned a lot through his years of experience, he says "the courses validate my experience and differentiate my resume." He said that he wishes he'd taken the courses before beginning his latest job challenge. He found that "you don't have to figure things out and learn it all by yourself" when you have an instructor and classmates to help.
Whether entering a new field or confirming and enriching experience, Bob's testimony is that it's never too late to add to your knowledge and skills.
